As mentioned in other articles, different kinds of Viasox have been carefully designed for different purposes. That said, the wearing instructions vary depending on which product you are using.
Non-Binding Diabetic Socks
For example, our Non-Binding Diabetic Socks were specifically designed to be soft and stretchy so as to allow for calf and ankle swelling of multiple different magnitudes. These socks offer no compression features whatsoever and do not actively alter the way blood is flowing within the leg itself. Rather, the Non-Binding Diabetic Sock is meant to eliminate the blood flow constriction that other socks and diabetic socks on the market simply fail to do.
Compression Diabetic Socks
On the other hand, our Compression Diabetic socks are made to be intentionally tighter around the calf and offer the user clinically relevant compression. The purpose of this product is to intentionally alter the blood flow within the calf and leg.
How To Wear Each
As you can see, different socks accomplish different goals. With this in mind, we have different recommendations depending on which socks you choose to wear.
As our Non-Binding Diabetic Socks do not constrict or manipulate blood flow, feel free to wear these as often as is comfortable. Keep in mind we offer both thicker and thinner variations of this sock depending on if warmth or breathability is of greater importance to you.
For our Compression Diabetic Socks, due to the nature of the technology, we do not recommend wearing these without taking any breaks. As each customer is different, we recommend that you speak with a doctor regarding how your Viasox Compression Diabetic Socks should be implemented into your lifestyle.
NOTE: We recommend all of our customers consult with a doctor regarding which sock is best for them and how they should be worn to aid with any medical condition.
